Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) will be exhibiting at FachPack in Nuremberg from September 29 through October 1, 2009, thereby underlining its objective of further strengthening its position in the packaging segment. Heidelberg will be using the trade show to showcase solutions for integrated sheetfed offset packaging and flexible, variable printing of packaging and labels using inkjet systems. Its slogan for the event is: "Integrated packaging solutions - think economically, print ecologically". The company's presentation is aimed at packaging printers and manufacturers, manufacturers of branded goods, and bottling plants.

Trelleborg has strengthened its distribution channels in Switzerland with the appointment of Chromos AG to handle sales and support of the Rollin range of blanket solutions in the sheetfed, commercial web offset and newspaper markets. The new agreement does not affect sales in Switzerland of Vulcan blankets, which continue to be sold by Manroland.

Since May 2009 Manroland Latina, a subsidiary of Manroland AG, has been responsible for the Mexican market as well as the markets in Bolivia, Ecuador, the Caribbean, Central America, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela.

Recently, the first of two manroland 32-page COLORMAN presses went into production at Neue Osnabrucker Zeitung, the publishing house of one of Germany’s elite daily newspapers.  manroland completed installation of one of the most modern and automated presses currently available on the market in an extremely short time period.  It provides a preview of what North   American publishers can expect when they move forward with autoprint.

Third production stage with ppi solutions

From July 2009 ppi’s ad workflow will combine all areas of the ad department at the Saarbrücker Zeitung in a single workflow. All processes in the ad management workflow, from ad booking through reservation and production to pagination and verification, are now automated. ppi Media GmbH, a subsidiary of manroland AG, is also responsible for implementing a standard interface to the newly installed SAP Media solution.

Second-quarter orders at ailing German printing press maker Heidelberger Druckmaschinen (HDDG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research) were at about the same level as in the first quarter, its Chief Executive Bernhard Schreier told Reuters.
